新紀錄將圓周率計算到了小數點後202萬億位用了28塊61.44TB SSD
獨立儲存研究機構StorageReview與快閃記憶體領導廠商Solidigm聯合宣布,將圓周率計算到了小數點後202萬億位(確切地說是202,112,290,000,000位數),相比今年3月初的原有記錄105萬億位幾乎翻了一番。
本次計算採用了戴爾PowerEdge R760伺服器,配置Intel五代至強鉑金8592+ 64核心處理器、1TB DDR5記憶體、Solidigm D5-P5336 61.44TB SSD,總共多達28塊,總容量將近1.5PB。

計算連續進行了足足85天,也就是將近三個月,每塊SSD都寫入了3.76PB的資料。

計算圓周率當然需要超強的CPU算力,那為什麼還需要超大SSD呢?
這是因為,當計算資料過大、遠大於記憶體時,必須使用多精度算術軟體演算法,將資料分解成易於管理的資料區塊,並使用特定演算法分離,自然對儲存容量、速度提出了嚴格的要求。
之前計算105兆位元的時候,用的也是Solidigm SSD,搭配了AMD EPYC 256核心處理器。
